Website Monitoring (Ping)
Ensure 100% availability for your web pages. Track performance and stay informed about every outage in real-time from multiple global locations.
What is website monitoring and why do you need it?
Website monitoring using ICMP (Ping) or HTTP requests is a cornerstone for any online service operator. Pulsitor regularly verifies from multiple global regions whether your server is reachable and how fast it responds. In today's world, where every second of downtime can mean lost customers and damaged reputation, a proactive approach is a necessity. Our service provides detailed reports on your hosting stability and helps identify problems before your users even notice them.

Website monitoring questions
What people ask before they add the first monitor.
What is the difference between ping and HTTP monitoring?
A ping (ICMP) check only asks whether the machine answers at all. An HTTP check requests the page, looks at the status code and can additionally search the body for a keyword — so a server that is up but serving a 500 fails the HTTP check and passes the ping.
How often can a website be checked?
Every 15 seconds on the Large plan, every 30 seconds on Medium, every 60 on Small and every 180 seconds on the Free plan.
Can Pulsitor check a page behind HTTP authentication?
Yes. Every website monitor can send HTTP Basic or Digest credentials, and you choose the HTTP method — HEAD, GET, POST, PUT, PATCH, DELETE or OPTIONS.
Will a single failed check wake me up?
No. More than one of the 5 monitoring regions has to agree the site is down before an incident opens and a notification leaves.
Is website monitoring available on the free plan?
Yes. HTTP, keyword and ping checks work on every plan, the Free one included, which allows up to 15 monitors.
